Saturday, October 14, Day 23
I was supposed to be in Michigan today, walking a very special friend down the aisle at her wedding. Katie and her wife Elizabeth even delayed the wedding from last spring until now to make it easier for us to be there. We didn't count on Maria. We tried right up to the last minute but there are virtually no flights except humanitarian flights. I can get off the island to Florida but can't get back.
So instead of being in Michigan, I was here working on the horse shelter.
Then we went out for dinner. Our friends Tim and Amanda have a tiny micro brewery on the edge of Moca and San Sabastian. They do the beer, our nephew Ben does the food. They have water and electric and they would be open Saturday. So we went.
OMG! Ben had salad greens! Elaine had a huge salad with cucumber and feta cheese and and and...It was awesome. I had a churrasco (skirt steak) sandwhich with mushrooms in red wine sauce, on homemade bread. Wow!
And we celebrated Katie and Elizabeth's wedding, toasting them with fresh beer.
