NOW February 15, 2019

It's interesting reading and writing about all the wind and rain we had at this time last year. The wind usually kicks up in the afternoon but nothing like last year and certainly not all day.

We've had a little light rain a few times this week but again, nothing like last year and certainly not enough. Water rationing starts here on the northwest side of the island next Friday. We will have water 24 hours on then 24 hours off. This time it's not a rumor. As long as they stick to that, it's not bad. At least we can plan for it. I'm really glad we don't have to deal with the restaurant! We'll do whatever we can to help Stephanie and Jordan.

We went to San Juan on Wednesday to meet friends and my cousin coming in on cruise ships. Lisa is the volunteer coordinator at Fieldstone Farms in Ohio where Elaine did a lot of her volunteer hours for her PATH certifications. We took Lisa and her husband Bob to Hacienda Siesta Alegre in Rio Grande on the other side of the island. Our friends Greg and Linda own this amazing horse ranch, B&B, and event venue. Needless to say, they were impressed. They talked about actually coming back to PR and staying there. Bob's comment was, "If I come here, I'm not leaving." I understand that sentiment. After that we went to lunch in Luquillo. It was really great meeting them.

My cousin Bill and his partner Paul came in on another cruise ship a little later. Unfortunately Paul wasn't feeling well so it was just us and Bill. That's okay - we've haven't seen him since way before we moved to Puerto Rico. We didn't have quite as much time with Bill so we took a drive out to a beach area east of San Juan called Piñones. We've heard about it for years but we've never been there. Again, we didn't have s much time as I would have liked to explore but we did get to hang out on the beach. It was good to spend time with him.

It was  a long day. After all the San Juan traffic, we were glad to get back home.

Huge thanks to Anna and Jeremy for letting us use their vehicle for the trip. It made it mush more comfortable!
